So often, it is all too easy to get caught up in the drama of life. To throw pity parties, to complain about how busy you are or how tired you are. Newsflash: everyone is busy, everyone is tired, and everyone has at least one problem on their minds.
But you can make the world a better place by not letting these negative thoughts drain you. If you focus on the good (even when there doesn't seem to be much) you will notice that things will start to look up. Even if you have to "fake it till you make it," intentionally changing your outlook every day can make all the difference in the world.
Here are a few inspiration words to live by for those moments when life and its many unfairnesses, cruelties and problems get you down:
“Being optimistic is like a muscle that gets stronger with use. Makes it easier when the tough times arrive. You have to change the way you think in order to change the way you feel.”
Robin Roberts (Everybody’s Got Something)
"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway. "
Mother Teresa
“ …Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 (New International Version)
Pain throws your heart to the ground Love turns the whole thing around No, it won't all go the way, it should But I know the heart of life is good
John Mayer (The Heart of Life)
“Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again, rejoice! Let everyone see that you are unselfish and considerate in all you do. Remember that the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4: 4-7 (The Living Bible)
